Homes Damaged Across St. Louis After Early Morning Storms
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– The early Monday morning storms caused a lot of problems for homeowners across St. Louis.
Tesson Court near the River Des Peres is a city neighborhood with lots of old trees but now they are down by one.
Luckily, the house sits so close to the curb the tree didn`t have far to fall, though it did cause some minor damage done to the roof of the porch.
And all across the area that`s the sort of thing last night`s storm left behind, they had trees down in Chesterfield and Florissant and power poles were snapped in several places including Villa Ridge in Franklin County.
At the peak of the storm, Ameren Missouri had 14,800 without power. A spokesperson says the hardest hit areas were Ellisville and Berkely.
The power flickered on Tesson Court, but Jim Staub says it had not even started to rain when his tree came crashing down.
